GLOBALIZATION Comprises the multilateral interactions among global systems, local practices, transnational trends, and personal lifestyles It is the adoption and acceptance of some standards in the various aspects of life INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION began in the 18th century movement which machines changed people’s way of life INDUSTRY : skill, assidulty, perseverance, and diligence collective work for our manufacturing and productive institutions INDUSTRIALISM (1830s) - a new system created by rapid growth of these institutions Significant changes brought about by Industrial Revolution (Germain, 2000) : • the invention of machines in lieu of doing the work of hand tools; • the use of steam, and other kinds of power vis-à-vis the muscles of human beings and of animals; and • the embracing of factory system • Electronic computers • Research and data processing • Artificial Intelligence (AI) •Developing countries lack technological strength to utilize their resources better • Beneficial and divisive globalization EXPLAIN HOW 7.3 HUMAN RELATIONS ARE TRANSFORMED BY SOCIAL SYSTEMS CHANGE AS A CONDITION OF MODERN LIFE The achievements of human beings in the modern age provide unprecedented opportunities for human welfare and fulfillment, but they also have placed in the hands of humanity instruments of universal destruction (Pettman, 2012).
