I’m writing to you for applying for the Graduate Chartered Surveyor Position. And I’ve read your
advertisement about seeking for a graduate to your business who wants to undertake the
training to become a Member of the RICS as a Chartered Surveyor. So I’m interested in the

According to the advertisement, your position requires top university, Bachelor or above in Real
Estate or equivalent field and RICS accredited degree. I feel that I am competent to meet the
requirements. As you can see from my attached CV, I am currently studying for a bachelor joint
degree of the University of Aberdeen. My studies have included joint courses in finance and real
estate such as Applied Value and Corporate Finance. Before this, I have got good grades in the
courses related to real estate and finance during my previous study at South China Normal
University. In addition to my study of courses, you will see that I also have the work experiences
in financial companies and student department and volunteer organization. These experiences
have enabled me to develop my key skills which would be useful in your company such as
teamwork, communication and IT skills.
After researching a number of organizations, I am particularly attracted to the graduate surveyor
position because your company is involved in a large range of projects and offers enough training
and support to graduates in order to ensure they meet the minimum standards set by RICS. Also,
the process of rotating through different departments can efficiently enhance various abilities
required by the RICS. I believe that a placement with your company would provide me with a
opportunity to gain lots of valuable experiences across the aspect of chartered surveyor
development.
