The Importance of Sincerity (Nasihah) - Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi
The religion is Nasiha. Nasaha – purity, sifting good from bad. Act of purifying honey nasaha. sincere,
pure, to be free of corruption. More than ikhlas. To be wholesome for the person in front of you, you
want good for someone for them and not for your own self. No hidden agenda.
Defining characteristic of all prophets. Nasah sincere and pure.
ALLAH
Worshiping Allah and only Allah. No higher goal other than pleasure of Allah. Everything for the sake of
Allah. Giving yourself purely to Allah. 100%. Enter Islam completely. Yaqeen and Tawakul in Allah. We
need Allah, He does not need us.
BOOK OF ALLAH
Absorb in our lives completely, recite it correctly, ponder over Quran Tadabur. Memories as much as
possible. Implement its commandments in our lives, defend and preach this book.
MESSENGER OF ALLAH
Believe in him as the perfect human being to walk on earth. The best role model, love him more than
own self, love to study his seerah. Ever be curious about his life and times and then act on his preaching.
Spread his teaching and defend his honor. Love, honor and respect. Model in all aspects of our life.
IMAMS OF MUSLIM
Leaders of land in Islam. Nothing corrupts the soul like power, the leader given advise for the sake of
Ummah and not to fill your own pockets. Best jihad is to speak truth in front of a tyrant ruler. Allah told
to Musa to speak to Firaun in a gentle manner, be soft. In all matters the khalifa is to be obeyed, does
not apply to leaders of muslim land.
Religious authority, inheritors of prophet. Interpret the Shariah and give fatwa.
MASSES OF ISLAM
Whole Ummah. Heart have sincerity for everyone who is a muslim. Love for brother, love for yourself.
Everybody cares for everybody else. Concerned about everybody. Not live and let live, this is not Islamic
ideology.





Nasiha is given in private. Not to publicly humiliate. Goal is to bring a positive change.
Best nasiha comes from love and not shaming and anger. What comes from heart and reaches
the heart.
One should not overstep bounds, do not pry into affairs of others. Leave that which does not
concern you.
When nasiha is given, act in humble manner. Act of arrogance that you reject. Listen with open
heart, even if you disagree the good intention should be appreciated. Think about it later.
Be wary its not necessary the person coming with nasiha is sincere. Ibles misused it.
