VOICE LEVEL EXPECTATIONS This is our voice level during individual assignments: readings, independent practice, tests, and anytime we have a visitor in the room. (Unless they state otherwise.) We will create a silent workspace WITH NO TALKING where EVERYONE can concentrate and focus. This is our voice level when working with a single partner. We will use this during any activity working in a pair. This will ensure that pairs are not interrupted or distracted as they complete the assignment. We will WHISPER QUIETLY so only the person we are working with hears. This is our voice level during group work, either in class or in the lab. You should speak at such a level that only the people working with you in your own group can hear you. Speak in a LOW VOICE that is more than a whisper but less than your normal voice. This is our voice level during whole class discussions and activities. We will speak in our NORMAL VOICE so that the whole class can hear our responses. We will not speak over one another and will not speak while others are speaking. We will take turns and stay on topic. This is our voice level during presentations. We will speak ONE AT A TIME in a CLEAR, LOUD VOICE so that the whole class can hear. *THIS VOICE LEVEL SHOULD NEVER BE USED DURING OTHER* ACTIVITIES TO BE RESPECTFUL OF OTHER’S NEEDS, THOUGHTS, FEELINGS AND WORK IN OUR CLASS.
