Duterte to close Lotto Outlets
Due to massive corruption, Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte ordered to stop lotto
operations and other gaming schemes that was covered by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office
(PCSO) all over the country last July 26, 2019.
“I have today ordered the closure, the stoppage of all gaming schemes, whatever nature
however done, that got the franchises to do from the PCSO. The ground is massive corruption involving
all, pati the courts who repeatedly issued injunctions to paralyze government and to allow corruption to
thrive,” Duterte said.
Duterte further said beginning tomorrow at sunrise, everything, all transactions and gaming,
wager of bets, becomes illegal.
Police Officers led by Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Oscar Albayalde, didn’t waste time
and started the operation in closing thousands of lotto outlets in Metro Manila and other parts of the
country.
