Weekly Reflections
Writing weekly reflections to self-assess and improve the way you learn. Pick one of the
printed history reading from current week to write about. Summarize. Explain how all
five areas connect to the reading;
Always submit reflection to the drop box in D2L first, then update your reflection after
feedback or corrections and submit to your e-Portfolio. Submit as a word document
and double spaced.
Title of Reading: Summarize reading in your own words. State all five rubric
connections after summary or incorporate as your writing your summary.
1) Experience: How does the reading connect to an experience you have had in another
class, history or your life? Give example or explanation.
2) Academic Coursework: How does reading this history article relate to a discipline?
Use an example or explanation.
3) Transfer of knowledge: what you learned about by reading the article chosen that
you can apply to another class or your life? How did it solve a problem?
4) Audience: Who is your audience? What are the requirements of the assignment?
What was the purpose of the reading? What was the subject of the reading?
5) How has your knowledge changed or increased as a result of reading this article?
Can you assess (explain) how your knowledge is different? Explain or write about
something from the article.
Put in drop box D2L. Do not put in e-Portfolio until after grading and feedback.
