Assumption Road City of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan-3024 Chapter1 THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND Introduction Electricity is the set of physical phenomena associated with the presence and motion of matter that with electric charge. Electricity is one of the most important needs of men for their daily lives nowadays. Despite of being one of the most important needs of society, men are overusing electricity which leads to electrical problems. A big example, here in Philippines, squatters are the one mostly experience electrical issues such as explosion, fires and short circuit because of jumper and octopus wiring. As a future electrical engineers the researchers aim to be helpful in the field of electrical wirings, electrical installation as well as invent other electrical devices that will be beneficial to society. The researchers’ objective is to make a device to detect electrical problems in a wiring installation, furthermore, a system to bring assurance to the users of A.E.R.I.D (Automatic Electrical Rod Indicator Device) is a device that can detect broken conductor in a wiring installation. A.E.R.I.D (Automatic Electrical Rod Indicator Device) will help electricians for work to be less time consuming and installing the device makes the owner will be rest assured that their house is fully safe and doesn't have any electrical problems or issues. A.E.R.I.D is hassle free and less space consuming because of its size the device similar to a buzzer. The device is connected with wiring installations of a facility. Assumption Road City of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan-3024 a short circuit for example that may cause electrical issues, A.E.R.I.D can automatically detect it because of a sensor connected with the overall wiring. The device has battery, that when the device is connected with a breaker it will automatically consume electricity to recharge. The purpose of the battery of the device is for risks loss of electricity ensuring that, it will still work and continue to detect all electrical rods connected with a breaker for any problems. A.E.R.I.D can sound an alarm if a damage conductor has detected. Even outdoors because our device has an application that can be installed on phones can send a message to inform its owner of the problem. To register, the code at the back of the device should be taken note of and sent it to the company. Statement of the problem This study aims to detect the connection of the wirings installation for over headlines using the A.E.R.I.D. (Automatic Electrical Rod Indicator Device). The researchers aim to answer the following: 1. Can the device be more manageable and easier to use? 2. What are the effects of the device to the electrical rods? 3. Ha – The device may indicate well the damaged electrical rod, may alarm well or the text may be also on time, or may be better than manual search of damaged electrical rod. Significance of the Study The study aims to test the effectiveness of A.E.R.I.D. in detecting broken conductors which will be of benefit for the electricians companies and future researchers: Owner. The A.E.R.I.D will be beneficial for the owner houses because they will be worry free for any electrical issues when they will be alarmed by the device and receive notification if there was a damage part in the electrical rods. Electricians. The A.E.R.I.D will be beneficial and helpful for the electricians. Their work will be light and not hazardous. The device makes their job easier and safer for their health. Company. For those who will be manufacturing this device, they will gain an increase of income because of the device’s modernity, and its advantage and benefits for facilities needed to be monitored for electrical problems. Future researchers. This research will be their basis to may improve the A.E.R.I.D.’s performance so it can be more useful. Assumption Road City of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan-3024 Scope and Delimitations This study will help the electricians easily found the broken conductor and to rebuild it immediately in a short amount of time. The researchers’ aim is to give a solution to common electrical related problems. The study will be responsible to set the limits for the 15 respondents (10 students and 5 professionals) either even if it is a professional or not, the researchers will only gather data that is related only in the study. Definition of Terms A.E.R.I.D. – It is an electrical device for detecting broken wires/conductors/electrical rods in a wiring installation and has an alarm that can be hear inside of a facility and also can send a notification in the owner’s phone to inform if there are any problems. Short Circuit – It is an electrical circuit that allows a current to travel along an unintended path with no or very low electrical impedance. Jumper – It is a way of stealing electricity. Octopus Wiring – It refers to plugging many gadgets and appliances to a single extension wire, not minding if the cord can withstand the load needed to pass on the power.
