PART I – READING COMPREHENSION
Read the text carefully.
Hi Kevin! Guess what? My new school is very famous – Kidbrooke School, in
Greenwich! Do you remember that TV series “Feed me Better” with Jamie Oliver? Well,
Jamie Oliver was in my school for a year, preparing and teaching us how to cook healthy food in the school canteen. Now the food is delicious and healthy!
My friends told me he was really amazing!! Can you believe some students didn’t know what a carrot or a potato was before this TV series? The students ate chips, fried fish and hamburgers at home and at school. Jamie Oliver began a campaign to ban unhealthy food in British schools and he started here. He explained to the students that a good nutritious meal at lunchtime improves their behaviour and concentration in the classroom. Besides, if we eat too much fast food, we will probably have diabetes, heart diseases and be obese. Did you know that the UK has the highest rate of childhood obesity in Europe? School meals are very important and now everybody loves eating in the school canteen. We eat soup, fresh salad and fruit every day! What about your school dinners?
Love
Andrea
