During the period from 2014-16 more than
30,000 pages (B&W and Colour) were formatted and
processed by this Section, providing major inputs to
the Printing Unit.
Printing Section
The printing section takes care of all printing
assignments/jobs through the offset printing
process. There are three single-colour and three
double-colour sheet-fed offset printing machines.
To further improve the quality of print production
and productivity, under the modernization plan a
new four-colour sheet fed offset printing machine
(CPC Komori LS-429, made in Japan) was procured
and installed which is capable of producing 16,000
sheets per hour in size 20”x29” which means 64000

impressions per hour. The quality and productivity
of NISCAIR colour printing have increased manifold
since the new four colour sheet fed offset printing
machine became operational.
The section also has a plate-making unit with
Auto plate processor and a binding unit. The
output of printing section is around 30,000 pages
per annum including 10,000 colour pages which
resulted into approximate one million impressions
during the period. The section provides excellent
print quality to the institute as well as to the other
government agencies jobs.
The Institute has also Acquired Computerto-Plate (CTP) technology, which will replace the
existing plate-making system and will eliminate the
step of making DTP pages on film which is being
