Thoughts: Why: Paul is praying because Christ will be glorified and we in Him How: 1. God makes you worthy of the calling (made fit for the task, given strength to be a Christian) 2. God fulfils every resolve for good and every work of faith (things you do convicted by belief in God count towards God’s glory) Main Idea: Why should we pray? We should pray because Christ will be glorified in us and us in Him, and God is getting us ready for the day Jesus returns by making us worthy and fulfilling every resolve for good and every work of faith. Sermon Outline: Heart of prayer (reason for prayer) 1. Christ is glorified in Believers Jesus Christ will be glorified because believers have been kept till that day. They have persevered. But they have only done so because of Him who made it possible for them. 2. Believers are glorified in Him We are glorified means that the process of sanctification is made complete. We will be made perfect just as He promised. That will happen when Christ comes again. The glorification is in Him, because Christ makes it possible. Means (what we’re praying for) 1.
