Energy Resources We will be completing some of this task in the library. In the library you must work in silence. You must be able to describe the energy transfers involved in generating electricity using: wind water (hydroelectric, tidal, wave) geothermal resources solar cells fossil fuels nuclear power You will be assigned one of the above energy resources. Your task is to produce a fact sheet on your assigned resource. In this fact sheet you must include: How your system generates electricity. The energy transfers associated with the process of generating electricity with your system. The definitions of the words renewable and non-renewable. Whether your resource is renewable or non-renewable. The advantages of your system, other than cost. The disadvantages of your system, other than cost. The percentage of the UK’s electricity that is generated using this method. You will print out your fact sheet and hand it in. You will then be provided with a record sheet. The reports will be copied and distributed amongst the class. You will all fill in your record sheet with the information from everybody else’s fact sheets. Make sure your work is good enough to be read by your peers!
