The Mystery of God’s Love
For this week I have decided that we do a bible study/discussion on God’s love. We are
experiencing never ending shocks and pressures from all angles be it social, economic, political
and even religious spheres. So what are we to make of all these things? How can we make
sense of all these things and still remain steadfast in our faith..? The bible tells us God is love
and in him we find strength and refuge (Ps 46:1-3).
This is a very complex and broad topic but here are some discussion points for Wednesday;





What is God’s love? What does it mean to you?
What is your understanding of God’s love in times as these?
How can we as Christians show others love in ways that God has showed love to us?
How can we live and practice the love of God in business, homes, work, relationships etc?
For those who are able and are willing to share, please come ready to share VERY short
testimony and/or examples of how God’s love has manifested in their live (if we have
time!!!).

Here are four characteristics of God’s love. (1 John 4:9-10)
Enabling (that we might live through Him)
Other Seeking (not that we loved God)
Self-Initiating (but that He loved us)
Sacrificial ( sent His only begotten Son; our propitiation
b) Love That Surpasses All Understanding Is Found In Christ Ephesians 3:16-19
GOD'S LOVE is total and it reaches every corner of our experience according to Paul.
 It is 'wide'--it covers the breadth of our own experience, and it reaches out to the whole
world.
 God's love is 'long'--it continues the length of our lives.
 It is 'high'--it rises to the heights of our celebration and elation.
 His love is 'deep'--it reaches to the depths of discouragement, despair, and even death.
When you feel shut out or isolated, remember that you can never be lost to God's love.
