Transgender is a human Being. Definition Transgender’s Life In Society Transgender’s Problems Transgender’s Rights Government Work For Transgender NGO Work For Transgender Our Role & Conclusion Transgender people are those who have a gender identity or gender expression that differs from their assigned sex. Transgender people are sometimes called transsexual if they desire medical assistance to transition from one gender to another.(Wikipedia) The above definition for transgender is taken from Wikipedia. If transgender are people then why they cannot get rights equally like a Human Being Because all the people are Humans. Like a human being they have eyes, ears, foots, hands, tongue and foremost heart (where emotion and feelings are born) which differs human being with other creatures in the world. They differ only in one respect and on the base of this respect we cannot consider them as a third community. They are the part of this world and we have to admit it. The life of transgender is very difficult in a society. The society does not want to accept the transgender. Society treats transgender like an animal which can live anywhere and thinks that they cannot play key role in life. Even the educated people of the society don’t know how to treat them. They are not only doing this unjust but the fact is that they are also ruining their next generations by behaving bad with these transgender in front of their children...what our children will seek from us ??Even when a transgender is born in a family, the family refuses to accept him or her. Transgender are tortured by their family. Sometimes the family members throw them out of the house or kill them. If family accepts him or her then society does not accept him or her. In a society, every one laughs on transgender. Society has no respect for transgender in their life. The society not only laughs on transgender but also on the family member where a transgender born. This makes the family member to take some solid action towards transgender so that at least no one can laugh at them. I think, these types of question come in the transgender’s mind when they grow and treated like that. Am I putting burden on my family? Am I bad? Why are all laugh at us all the time? Am I joker? This makes them less confident and depress. They start to feel hesitation with the people around him. Sometimes they leave their homes and meet with other transgender where they feel comfort. And others transgender guide them how to live in very narrow minded society. Then they start to work with other transgender. Like dancing in a wedding and we all know what they do for living in the society that’s because of our society who does not want to accept them… Consequently, most of these individuals have no other option, but to make their living by singing and dancing alongside the road or in private parties. Additionally, transgenders are usually not encouraged to live amongst regular mohalla’s. They are bound to establish their own colonies outside of regular communities. Moreover their life is not secure as there are 46 killings of transgender and 300 violent attacks on them across KP. One of the transgender Alisha was shot eight times. Most of transgender had suffered sexual abuse in their childhood...Is this what Islam teach us??Think for a while …..??Are we Muslims??Are we Humans?..... When someone of them does not tolerate these things then they commit suicide The only way to get rid of these troubles. A tradition have evolved that they cannot do any work except for singing and dancing. They are not treated as equal as other human Being; they live in secluded communities with their own kind, often in extreme poverty. Most are uneducated because these individuals never get a chance to acquire education in the regular schools due to discriminatory treatment and disgusting attitude of fellow citizens. First they don’t get the chance to get education and someone when they get education then there are no employment policies for them. One of the example is that Riffie Khan who got an double master in Economics and Political Science but was unable to continue her job just because of her gender is not specified. This news is very strange for me and may be also for you. How can we judge anyone capabilities from genders? As Pakistanis, we have to realize that these individuals are struggling for their rights and they want to tell us that they are also human beings, just like us, and deserve rights equally as others human being has. E.g. they deserve the right to get education but these individuals voices are not heard by anyone. We need to be the voice that speaks on their behalf, fights for their rights and makes their living less painful. It was the very first time in the history of Pakistan that transgender population was counted in 2017 census and it was about 500,000 transgender living in Pakistan. Now the Government is also trying that every transgender should enjoys rights equally. Before 2009, there is no CNIC for transgender and transgender is included in disabled people category but in 2009, the Supreme Court passed the order to include a category of third gender in CNIC Form. Transgenders in Pakistan were awarded the right to REGISTER as a third gender on their CNICs in 2012. As now they have CNIC so they can have the rights to choose their representatives and have a right to cast a vote. In 2009, the Supreme Court also passed the rule that every transgender should have the right of inheritance after the death of parents, job opportunities, free education and health care. But these rights are only written on a paper and these rights are still pending for implementation. A much appreciated step is taken by Asif Shahzad & NGO named Exploring Future Foundation. Recently both by working together built a school for Transgenders to provide them education and teach them how to live and meet people in the society. This School provides the 12th year of academic education. The basic matriculation and then college studies. Asif Shahzad in interview on Dawn told that after the Lahore Branch opening, two more such school will be establish in ISLAMABAD AND KARACHI. This school is also providing a job for transgender as in the school’s faculty members, in this school three faculty members are transgender. I think if one can do to promote the rights of transgender then we should also raise our voice for transgenders. We should not considered them as a third community and behave them like a human not a transgender. And also we should not wait for the Government to work. If we have the opportunity to work for human welfare then we should work and help them. We cannot put everything on the Government. I know it is easy to speak than to do. Because most of our Government departments are corrupt but we have to do the things where our approach goes to. Let’s start this chain of spreading happiness on everyone’s face and life. I’ve started it and I select you to continue this chain. If this chain continues & transgender got their rights then May be they are change Maker for our Country. At last I end this by a slogan, “Be A Human, Be A Human and Be A Human.”
