Dribbling and passing BY: Nickolas, Trevor and Jason Equipment Time: Whole class One ball per person Cones Pinnies 2laps around the gym Start with stretching 5mins 10 push-ups 10 sit-ups Basketball warm-up game: 5mins Each student will have a ball, the objective of the game is to use your ball to knock someone else’s ball out of their grip when they are dribbling, students must remain dribbling the whole time. Once your ball is knocked out of your hand you go to the side of the gym and jog on the spot. Teach students proper dribbling Technique 2mins How to hit the ball with their hand and where to hit it on their hand Practice 15mins Practice stationary dribbling with dominant hand then switch to non-dominant hand and after that cross ball from hand to hand Dribbling half court dominant there and back Dribbling to half court non-dominant there and back Do last to steps but backwards Dribbling to half court there and back crossovers Demonstrate bounce pass and chest pass 2mins Practice 10mins Find partner with similar ability to you and practice chest pass then bounce pass Demonstrate three-man weave 2mins Practice three-man weave 10mins Line students up in three lines balls in middle line Cool down Stretching for remaining time
