

You are going to create a project that celebrates our cultures. You will create a Keynote
or Google Slides presentation on the country and region where your family is from to go
along with our reading of Crossing the Wire.
You will complete this project individually (each person will work alone). This project
will be worth 100 points. When you have completed the project, you will email or share
it with me using Google Docs.

Geography:
1. Name of country, region/department/state, and city:

3. Landscape: (Are there mountains, volcanoes, oceans, lakes, etc? Does the land touch any
oceans, seas, rivers? What are the names of the geographic features? Example-name of
the volcano or name of the river.)
4. Map: the map should show where your city is located in the country.

6. Flag: Does your region/department/state/city have a flag? What does it mean? (For
example, in the U.S., we have 50 stars for the 50 states and 13 stripes for the 13 original
colonies.)
7. Climate: (What is the weather like? Do they describe it as tropical? Rainy? When? What
are the seasons?
8. Currency (money): used. What is the exchange rate with the American dollar?
9. Type of Government: (republic, constitutional monarchy, etc)
Culture and Attractions:
1. Recreation/outdoor activities: (volcanoes, forests, beaches, parks, sports, water
activities):

(places that are important in the destination’s history).
