The following question numbers refer to the seventh edition of Principles of HEAT and MASS TRANSFER (F.P. Incropera, D.P. Dewitt,
T.L. Bergman and A.S. Lavine)
As stated in the Module Outline, you must solve a prescribed number of problems in
each tutorial. In this particular tutorial, you must prove that you have attempted to
solve at least 9 (nine) problems. Note that for Chapter 4, we will study shape factors
used in conduction heat transfer later in the module, as your intuition by then will have
improved and make your mind more amenable to simultaneously visualize and calculate.
