Spoliarium (a vlog review)
What is justice? According to the Webster dictionary, justice is the maintenance or
administration of what is just especially by the impartial adjustment of conflicting claims
or the assignment of merited rewards or punishments. This vlog is all about the urban
legend of the alleged rape case of Pepsi Paloma. What is urban legend? An urban legend,
urban myth, urban tale, or contemporary legend is a modern genre of folklore. It usually
consists of fictional stories, often presented as true, with macabre or humorous elements,
rooted in local popular culture. These legends can be used for entertainment purposes,
as well as semi-serious explanations for random events such as disappearances and
strange objects. As said in the video, Pepsi Paloma, a sexy star was allegedly raped by
Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and Ricardo Reyes, also known as Richie D'Horsie. According
to the video, the alleged rape case and the song “Spoliarium” by Eraserheads are
connected. In the song "Spoliarium” the story of the rape case of Pepsi Paloma was told.
I don’t know if this is true, but a social media user asked Ely Buendia if the song
“Spoliarium” was really based on Pepsi Paloma, he answered “I will take this secret to my
grave” which means for me that there is some mystery to this song. On the vlogger, His
contents are very interesting, it is all about urban legends here in the Philippines. He
sounded a little bit corny but viewers can get a lot known unknown knowledge. The
vlogger maybe has a problem of speaking in front of the camera, too many cuts and
pauses. The background music used in the vlog was suited perfectly to the topic, because
it is quite dark and mysterious. He may not be an entertainer vlogger like CongTV,
RogerRaker, or Emman Nimedez, but his channel is full of interesting contents. Alam niyo
ba to! is a must watch channel in Youtube. Overall, the content was very good. The
vlogger was a bit corny but overall, vlogger is a good content creator and has a very
interesting content.
