• Writing in Ancient Egypt
• Written on temples and tomb
walls and on papyrus scrolls
• About 700 symbols - over
time it grew to 6,000
symbols!
• Papyrus:
• They cut the stems and dried them into sheets
that could be rolled
• They were light and easy to carry
• They created some of the first books!
