 Have taken or have registered to sit a minimum of eight
(8) BGCSE’s, including English and Math, prior to the time
of application
 Pass eight or more BGCSE subjects with grade “A” grades
 Applied or been accepted to a prestigious accredited
college or university
 Have obtained an SAT score of 1220 or higher
 Be exceptionally well rounded

PROGRAMME
IN ORDER TO QUALIFY, STUDENTS MUST:

(7) BGCSE’s, including English and Math, prior to the time
of application
 Pass seven (7) or more BGCSE subjects with grade “A”

SCHOLARSHIP
 Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or above
 Students must posses a minimum of five (5) BGCSE “A” passes
 Applicants must be accepted to approved international accredited colleges
or universities
 Must pursue a course of study that meets with national development /
career goals.
This award has a value of $10,000.00 per year, for up to four (4) years.
THE NATIONAL TECHNICAL SCHOLARSHIP
 Awarded to Bahamian students who wish to pursue a
certification course or degree in a technical or vocational
field
 Candidates must have a GPA of 2.5 and above
 Students can be awarded up to $7,500 per annum for
approved international technical institutions and $2,000
for study at BTVI
 The applicants course of study must meet national
developmental goals.
 This award is renewable for up to two (2) years.

CRITERIA
Students are required to:
• Be in the 9th -12th grade.
• Be a member of your school’s sports team as an athlete,
manager, film coordinator or statistician or;
• Be a certified official
• Have a desire to play a sport in college or continue your
team participation in college as a manager, statistician, film
coordinator or official
• Have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 or 70%.

THE GERACE RESEARCH CENTRE
SCHOLARSHIP
 Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or above and
possess a minimum of five (5) BGCSE passes.
 Awarded to Bahamian students, by an association
of colleges and universities in the United States in cooperation with the Ministry of Education.
 Presently, some sixteen (16) colleges and
universities offer tuition scholarships.
 Participating Colleges and Universities will offer full
or partial tuition scholarships and the Ministry of
Education will pay room and board.
 Gerace scholarships are available for studies at the
Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree level and have a value
of $10,000.00 per year, for a maximum of four (4)
years.


THE OASGOVERNMENT
OF THE
BAHAMAS
SCHOLARSHIP
PROGRAMME
 The OAS-GoB scholarship is awarded to
Bahamian students who wish to pursue
technical and academic studies at the
graduate or post graduate level.
 The MOE will award each scholarship
recipient $7, 500.00 per annum, for a
maximum of four years and the GS/OAS
shall award each recipient a onetime grant
of $1,000.00.
 Applicants must apply for admission to
the areas and levels of study as indicated
per participating partner institutions and
based on the countries list of priority areas.
 Applicants are encouraged to apply for
admission to three different participating
partner institutions to increase the chances
of being granted admission and selected for
the scholarship.
 The OAS has negotiated tuition waivers /
discounts from 20% - 100% with
participating partner institutions.
