Inventors Trading Card Project You will work with a partner to research about 4 assigned inventors. You will then use that information to create 4 trading cards for each one: one card to turn in and 3 to trade with classmates. Your ultimate goal will be to work with your partner to collect a complete set of 6 trading cards. Project Schedule Monday, Jan. 14 Step 1: Choose a partner to work with and sign up with your teacher to receive your 4 assigned inventors (there will be a trio with 6 assigned inventors). Tuesday, Jan. 15 Step 2: Research in your computer. Each individual will conduct research on 2 of the assigned inventors to gather the information needed to complete the trading cards. Step 3: Work with your partner to create 4 trading cards for each of the 4 inventors you were assigned using Trading Card Creator (http://www.readwritethink.org/classroom-resources/student-interactives/trading-card-creator30056.html). Each individual will create a total of 8 cards. (16 total per partnership) Write: Inventors Choose: Real Person Friday, Jan 18 Step 4: Turn in one trading card for each assigned inventor for grading (2 per individual) and trade cards with classmates and collect a complete set of all 12 trading cards Tuesday, Jan. 22 Step 5: Each student must hand in a reflection answering the following: 1) Compare at least two of the 6 inventor’s trading cards (life and achievements). 2) Explain how the engineering process is evident in their work. 3) How do you see yourself as an engineer, scientist or inventor?
