ROM part: split into groups randomly, walk into room, ex: Amanda went ice skating and she’ll need to do something irregular without telling her. Fractured scaphoid, 7 weeks post-fracture, is a musician, has a lot of pain and issues as a result. Need to decide which two measurements would be appropriate to assess. Would want to assess the wrist and thumb. If limited actively and passively, there’s a joint issue. Next step, get out goniometer to measure two measurements appropriate for the person. May want to see thumb movements and any limitation. Passive ROM work is a separate practicum time. Must be able to say the ranges (same rubric used in Kines: right test, axis, arms in right place, position appropriately, correct support for joint, read goni correctly, say expected range, timely, professional, introduce yourself) In book, internal/external rotation is for the ‘ideal’ 80 and 60 by the ‘near stomach’ internal/external rotation method.
