Sample:
Chernobyl Disaster, 1986
A reactor at the Chernobyl plant in Ukraine
exploded. Highly radioactive dust (fallout) was
released into the atmosphere and fell over an
extensive area. The disaster itself resulted in the
evacuation and resettlement of over 33,6000 people,
the fallout caused increased incidents of cancers in
the most exposed areas. The incident raised issues
concerning the safety of nuclear power plants. The
worries remain even today.
