Element Bingo
Instructions:
1. Fill each box with
one of these
element symbols:
H, He, Li, Be, B, C, N,
O, F, Ne, Na, Mg, Al,
Si, P, S, Cl, Ar, K, Ca
2. When an element
name is read out,
that matches one of
your symbols, colour
in the fish in that
box
3. When all of your fish
are filled in call out
“Bingo!”
Teacher
instructions
• Hand out the bingo sheets
• Ask students to select symbols from the
list on their sheets and write one into
each box. Stress that each symbol can
only be used up.
• Call out the element names and write
them on the board for students to read
as well.
• Ask give them 10 seconds each time to
find it and then call out the next one.
• When a student gets bingo congratulate
them, give them points and ask them
what the first two symbols are.
• Go through the rest of the words and ask
students to call out the symbol
• Ask them which symbols haven’t been
written up yet and get them to call out
what they are called as you write.
