At Lake Oconee Academy, the students are given a choice of two meats and two vegetables, and at fast food restaurants there are numerous types of meats and vegetables. Schools should be allowed to serve fast food because it's less expensive, students actually eat it, and it offers various choices of foods. A fast food lunch is cheaper than buying a school lunch. A McPick meal at McDonalds is two items for two dollars, an average lunch at school cost about $3.10. With the rising economy, many families can't afford to buy school lunches. With fast food being less expensive, more students could eat the meal provided by the fast food industry. https://www.fastfoodmenuprices.com The percentage of students that eat fast food lunches is higher than the percentage of students who eat the school lunch. Looking at the healthy side of fast foods many of them serve salads, yogurt parfaits, and a grilled chicken sandwich. Some of the foods are high in calories which could lead to obesity, but others are low calorie. A diet high in saturated fats can raise blood cholesterol.
