One of the communities I belong to would be Sephora. As an employee at Sephora, our goals as cashiers (working behind cash-wrap) would be to provide excellent client service, keep the line moving at a steady pace, help maintain a super friendly and welcoming environment for our staff and clients, respect our return policies, and be as helpful as possible! In order to work as a cashier at Sephora, you would either need to get in contact with on of our hiring managers or apply online at the cherry hill mall website or the Sephora website and type in our store number/city. Our way of communicating with each other would be through walkietalkies that almost every employee must have. However, there may not be enough for each cashier, so at least one cashier must be wearing a walkie-talkie to communicate with those on the floor. We use these walkie-talkies to ask things such as “Can I have a manager at cash-wrap please”. The other employees use them to help with client services. At Sephora, we offer many services such as minimakeovers that consist of products you had bought that day getting applied on your face, lash minis where a beauty advisor will help apply false lashes onto a client, beauty classes, make-up appointments, and reward accounts! Another community that I belong to would be to Rutgers University. As a student at Rutgers, our goals are to be able to attend our classes, learn from the material, pass our classes, and eventually graduate with a degree and a decided major. In order to attend our school, you would need to apply online and pay a $70 fee (unless it is waived). The way we communicate on campus would be anywhere and anyhow, except our library! We cover many topics here at Rutgers, as they all depend on the major/minor the student has chosen, but a few of them (and these are basic courses) would be English comp, mathematics, sciences, and history. There are also electives in the arts such as music and painting.
