SIOP FEATURE 6 MEANINGFUL (“AUTHENTIC”) ACTIVITIES THAT INTEGRATE LESSON CONCEPTS WITH LANGUAGE PRACTICE OPPORTUNITIES According to the SIOP method, it is important that students have authentic practice using their content skills and their English skills. These authentic activities should be incorporated as much as possible in the mainstream classroom in order to provide meaning and incentive in acquiring content knowledge and English literacy.
