Problem: A Laundry company has contracts to wash bedsheets for hotels, with the process as
follows:
1. The receptionist intakes each batch of sheets, which takes 1 minute.
2. Each batch is first washed in a washing machine, taking 20 minutes, and dried in a dryer,
taking 30 minutes. The laundry has five washing machines and seven dryers.
3. Each batch is then ironed by an employee, which takes 10 minutes. There are two employees
ironing sheets.
4. Finally, the receptionist packages the sheets and bills the customer, taking 2 minutes.
(a) Draw the collaboration graph of this process and tell whether or not the bottleneck formula
can correctly find its capacity.
(b) Regardless of whether or not the bottleneck formula is correct, use it to compute process
capacity.
