Background
Generally, best color performance requires a solid foundation of press maintenance (routines), calibrated press (wizards) and accurate substrate definition
(properties). Color performance will be poor if any of these requirements is not implemented properly. The final stage in the process refers the on press Color
Calibration features. By implementing the Color Calibration features, we ensure that colors are accurate and consistent over time.
NOTE: The color calibration features are components of a broader toolset, and are not to be considered as standalone tools.
The color calibration frequency table is based on best practices of HP Indigo customers around the world, supported by our technical industrial experts. The
table provides recommendations to ensure high productivity, best print quality, and high color performance.
You can achieve the best color consistency if the HP Indigo Digital Press is calibrated as often as possible; this frequency is dependent on your production
setup.
The recommended frequencies for color calibration are given as general guidelines. The selected frequency should suit the customer's level of color accuracy
requirements and the type of application being printed.
IMPORTANT: The customer should be aware that higher color accuracy requirements will increase waste and reduce press productivity.
The color calibration frequency table should be used as a practical tool (not just as a reference guide), and placed by the press for easy consultation.
If a customer has a color-related issue, the customer engineer (CE) should verify that the customer has actually followed the recommendations in the table.
This will help the CE to troubleshoot the color-related issue.

How to use the Color Calibration Frequency table
Use the Color Calibration Frequency table for HP Indigo 10000 Digital Press to determine which calibration procedures to perform, and when to perform
them, according to the customer's color accuracy level requirements.
Note that the color calibration frequencies are general guidelines. Select the frequency that suits the required level of color accuracy and type of application
you are printing. (For most applications, the normal/default level is satisfactory).
The first part of the color calibration table (see below), lists the recommended methods and frequencies for color calibrations according to color calibration
related features and color accuracy levels.

The second part of the color calibration table (see below), lists the color calibration related features according to steps and features from the press
software.

The 1st column on the left lists the steps and features from the press software, grouped by main menu items (indicated by the vertical headings). The
cells shading colors reflect the color of the relevant tab in the press software GUI.

Rows describe features and options available and recommended to the user. If these options are specific to the color accuracy levels, they will be split
into columns within the row.

When you are performing a step, you should follow the recommendations relevant to your requirements for color accuracy level, as indicated in the first part
of the table. Then refer to the second part of the table for description of the relevant step and feature available from the press software.
