Mrs. Hines’ Theatre 1 Cereal Box Project DUE BY 5/22

Final Exam/Extra Credit/Make up Assignment Will Replace 3 of your lowest grades and count as Exam

 Front of Box: (50 Points) o Design a cover for your cereal box. Include the name of the cereal along with a picture of your famous person, play, or place. Invent a name for your new cereal. It should have something do with your project choice. Include pictures of what your cereal pieces would look like as well as a picture of your project choice. Think about the designs cereal boxes have.

Things that should be included:

• Invented name of your cereal

• A picture of your choice project

• Famous figures name

• A quote that the famous person said, from the play, or from the time

• Picture of what your cereal looks like

 • The front should be attractive and have lots of color

Back of Box: (50 Points)

 o Design a game that is based on your person. It could be a puzzle, a word search, a word scramble, a maze, a crossword puzzle, a hidden pictures illustration or any other fun activity that might be found on the back of cereal box. Make sure it includes things, facts, new vocab., etc, about your project choice. Provide the answers to your game somewhere on the box.

Right Side: (25 Points) o On the right side of the box you will create a time line that includes at least 6 events from the person’s life, the play, or the time period. Make sure you use complete dates, Month, Day, Year.

Make sure they are significant events. You may draw this by hand or use a word processor. If drawing by hand, make sure to use a ruler and be very neat.

Left Side: (25 points) o On the left side of the box write a short summary of why this person was important, what the play is about, or why you chose that time period. Make sure to include what is important.

 Bottom of Box: (15 points) o On the bottom of the box include a UPC code and contact information. The contact information

 should include your name and the websites and or books used to find the information.

Top of Box: (10 points) o On the top of the box you can be creative and imaginative. Don’t, however, go over the top and take away from the rest of your box.

 Prize (Optional): (Up to 15 points extra credit) o Children’s cereals often include a prize. Your prize must be something that directly relates to your project choice. You can include a picture of the prize on the top of the box to let your customers know there is a prize inside.
