System Description:
• Left tank capacity:
20 gallons (usable)
• Right tank capacity:
20 gallons (usable)
• Tip tank moment ARM:
89.5 inches
• The tip tanks are gravity fed DIRECTLY to the engine by selecting either tip tank
on the fuel selector valve.
• Fuel Crossfeed is controlled by a switch just forward of the fuel selector valve.
Normal operation is in the “OPEN” crossfeed position, but not recommended
due to possible asymmetrical fuel loading. (CURRENTLY INOP)
Preflight:
1. Remove vent covers and stow in aircraft. (photo 2)
2. Fuel as needed and ensure tip tank fuel caps are secure. (photo 1)
3. Sump Tip Tanks. (photo 3)
4. Ensure aircraft is within C.G. range.(see attached C.G. range chart)
Note: C.G. range tablet/phone applications are available with pre-loaded range
charts

System Function Check Prior to Departure:
WARNING: AIR MAY BE TRAPPED IN THE FUEL LINES WHEN TIP TANKS
ARE FILLED
WARNING: ENGINE START AND RUNUP MUST BE PERFORMED USING
THE LEFT MAIN TANK TO ENSURE TANK SPACE FOR FUEL RETURN.
(Unburned fuel/excess from the engine returns to the left main tank at a rate up to 24
GPH ensure the left tank has sufficient head space)
1. Verify Tip fuel gauge reads approximate fuel in each tank. Use toggle switch.(photo 4)
2. Prior to Departure Boost Pump - LOW (assists with priming fuel lines)
3. Select- LEFT TIP (photo 5) (Until steady fuel flow is established)
4. Select- RIGHT TIP (photo 5) (Until steady fuel flow is established)
5. CrossFeed- ON (photo 5) (ensure fuel feeding from both tanks) (INOP)
6. Return Fuel Selector Valve- LEFT MAIN TANK (photo 5)
7. Boost Pump- OFF
8. Configure- FOR NORMAL TAKEOFF
WARNING: TAKEOFFS AND LANDINGS ARE PROHIBITED WHEN USING
TIPS TANKS.
WARNING: USE TIPS TANKS IN LEVEL FLIGHT ONLY
CAUTION: ENGAGE BOOST PUMP WHEN SWITCHING TO EITHER TIP
TANK. MONITOR FUEL FLOW. BOOST PUMP OFF ONCE POSITIVE FUEL
FLOW IS ESTABLISHED. (ENGINE MAY RUN ROUGH DURING THE
TRANSITION)
Suggested Tank Use Sequence:
1. LEFT MAIN (unburned fuel/excess from the engine returns to the left main tank
this will ensure sufficient tank space is available)
2. RIGHT TIP
3. LEFT TIP
4. LEFT MAIN
5. RIGHT MAIN (with FAA reserves as required)
CAUTION: THE CROSSFEED FUNCTION ALLOWS FUEL TO BE DRAWN
FROM BOTH TANKS SIMULTANEOUSLY BUT NOT NECESSARILY EQUAL,
ASYMMETRICAL FUEL LOADING CAN OCCUR (CURRENTLY INOP)
