Flanders/Air Seal at work for you...
Depend on Fan Pack II for the collection of particulate,
gases and bioaerosols. Flanders/Air Seal Fan Pack II’s are
fully self-contained, industrial grade air cleaning systems,
designed for precise control of particulate, gas-phase
and bioaerosol contaminants (or any combination) from
process or ambient air. These units feature a broad range
and combination of filtration components that allow
for exact controls to be selected and packaged to meet
individual applications.
The available components include the finest in medium,
high, and HEPA efficiency filters, UVC Systems and
TechSorb chemical media.
Fan Pack II’s feature integral fans sized to fit the specified
demand and efficiently deliver the required air volume. The unitary designs include a 3” integral base, complete
fan isolation and extruded aluminum filter tracks equipped
with woven pile filter seals. All joints are coated with
silicone compound and all access doors are equipped with
neoprene gaskets and bolt down, knurl-knob latches to
provide the finest seal against ambient air.
Fan Pack II’s can be installed as ducted systems to control
particulate, gas phase and/or bioaerosol contaminants
at the source or without ductwork to remove fugitive
airborne contaminants.
Flanders/Air Seal will help you assess your air pollution
requirements to select the right Fan Pack II configuration
for your specific needs.
Applications
Fan Pack II’s are available in 14 single and multi-stage
filtration component configurations to solve a wide
variety of air pollution problems. They are used to
remove nuisance or hazardous airborne contaminants
from manufacturing processes, laboratory environments,
isolation rooms, and a host of other areas.
Design engineering that is flexible...
Flanders offers an Engineering Department that can
provide realtime solutions. Changes can be made at
any point in the process. The changing world we like in
demands that the manufacturing process be flexible at all
times and be able to respond to the customers requests.
Every job has its hidden information and newly discovered
opportunities. Flanders has an Engineering Department
that is responsive on many levels. The Engineers at the
actual Assembly Shop are supported by a Corporate
Engineering Department that can provide additional
resourses when needed. All 3D Modeling is currently
performed at the Corporate Engineering Department
located in Washington, North Carolina.
General Description
The air cleaner is a unitary industrial type, furnished
as a side access housing, containing stage(s) of
particulate air filter, ultraviolet light system, and/
or gas-phase sorbent media, complete with integral
blower and motor sized to deliver the air volume as
specified.
Construction
Unit housing is constructed from 16 gauge galvanized
steel (optional stainless steel, or aluminum), welded,
with all interior and exterior metal-to-metal joints
sealed with silicone compound, mounted on a painted,
3” base. Optional unit paint coatings are available to
meet the end users needs.
Access doors are fully gasketed on the inside with
high memory neoprene gasketing. Interior of access
doors and cabinet are supplied with gasketing to seal
against the vertical edges of filters. Filter tracks are
fully gasketed and provide positive seal against filter
media to prevent air by-pass.
Blower/Motor
The blower/motor is mounted on a heavy duty,
unitary frame and use rubber-in-shear vibration
isolators and neoprene coated flexible fabric for
blower/motor-to-cabinet connections. The blower
is furnished with fixed sheave and the motor has an
adjustable sheave and drive belt. The blower is either
double width double inlet with forward curved wheel
or backward inclined plenum fan. The motor is an
open drip proof, 3 Phase/ 60 Hz/ 208-230-460VAC,
rated for continuous duty.
General Information
BI/AF and Centrifugal Blowers
Exterior Housing Completely Sealed
All interior and exterior metal-to-metal
connections are sealed with silicone
compound for maximum sealing integrity
All blowers are connected to the unit with neoprene
coated flexible fabric and rubber-in-shear isolators.
Heavy Duty Knurl Knob Latches
Access doors are fitted with bolt-down
knurl-knob latches that assure maximum
sealing integrity.
Fully Gasketed Access Doors
High memory neoprene gasket for
complete door closure and filter sealing.
Extruded Aluminum Filter Tracking
Extruded aluminum tracking, combined
with reinforced woven nylon pile seal
creates corrosion resistant filter seal.
Rugged Construction
All units are factory assembled in a “one
piece” unit constructed of 14 or 16 ga.
galvanized steel with 3” integral base.
Unit shown - Model PBH-1 with 30% prefilter, 95% bag filter,
99.97% HEPA and backward inclined plenum blower/motor.
* Industrial exhaust unit depicted above; clean air supply and similar applications should utilize Fan Pack III and Fan Pack IV.

inward to provide a clean flush exterior finish. The unit
shall be caulked with silicon sealant to produce an air
tight seal.
Insulation (optional)
Interior insulation shall be a minimum of 1” thick 1-1/2
pound per cubic foot density fiberglass duct board
with foil backing. All edges shall be taped to insure no
insulation is in the air stream with 3” foil tape. Insulation
shall comply with NFPA 90a. The fiberglass shall be
glued and fastened to the cabinet wall with stick clips. Other options available upon request.
Unit base
Continuously seam welded structural steel channel
reinforced to support all internal components on a
common channel frame. Units less than or equal to 12’
long, the base shall be constructed of 3” coated channel
iron. Units less than 20’ but greater than 12’ long, the
base shall be constructed of 4” coated channel iron. All
units over 20’, the base shall be constructed of 6” coated
channel iron. Provide lifting lugs approximately every
12’, minimum (4) per unit.
Access doors
Access doors shall provide service to all internal
components. Access doors for insulated units to be
double wall insulated with 1” thick 1-1/2 pound per
cubic foot density fiberglass complying with NFPA 90a. Outer wall to be 16gauge galvanized steel. Inner wall
to be minimum 20-gauge galvanized steel. Doors shall
swing freely on stainless steel hinges. Door latches
shall be positive pressure snap action bassick latches on
all units with total static pressure of 2-1/2” w.c. Door
perimeter gasket shall be continuous neoprene gasket. Note: all units greater than two filters wide shall have
doors on both sides of unit.
after machining. Units larger than 1,000 cfm. Blower
shall be complete with pillow block bearings, angle iron
frame around perimeter of blower housing, and shall
be equipped with zerk fittings for future lubrication. Lubrication lines shall be extended to exterior of unit
to permit lubrication for both bearings from access
