The objectives are:
1.To describe the basic laboratory animal handling and
importance of ethical clearance.
2.To teach non-invasive blood pressure measurement,
blood sample collection technique from small
animals.
3.To illustrate hands-on basic and advanced surgical
techniques in small laboratory animals.
4.To organize, describe, discuss and comprehend the in
vitro and in vivo data.
5.To learn the basics of electrophysiology focused on
extra and intracellular recording.
6.To learn the preparation of various
electrophysiological recording Fluids.
7.To be trained and to gain knowledge of extra and
intracellular recording and data analyses from the
experience of the experts in this field.
PROGRAM

Day 1 to Day 4 - Lectures and Hands-on training on
basic animal handling and basic advance surgical
technique in small Lab animals
Day 5 - Travelling from Penang to Kelantan
USM Health Campus, Kelantan
Day 6 to Day 11 - Lectures and Hands-on training on
recording and analysis of electrical signals from Leech,
Frog Oocytes and Rat brain slices followed by Cultural
Excursion and Farewell dinner party
Day 12 - Course ends and departure of participants
