FAA DO-178B Mission and Safety Critical Systems
As one of the most stringent standards in use in the software development industry,
DO-178B offers a strict certification requirement for software where anomalous behavior
could cause a catastrophic failure condition. Companies around the world use this
standard to ensure the safety and mission criticality of their system.
Since 1997, TES has been providing outsourced engineering services for flight critical
software in both the commercial and military markets. TES has been involved in all
phases of the DO-178B software development life cycle for Levels A, B, and C, with
expertise in the full DO-178B lifecycle artifacts from Plan for Software Aspects of
Certification (PSAC) through the Software Accomplishment Summary (SAS). TES
is proficient with requirements management, critical design, independent reviews,
robustness, resource limitations, code coverage, and tool qualifications on numerous
operating systems and development environments.

Test Equipment Design & Fabrication
TES’ test equipment and automated test stations play a pivotal role in the on time and on budget
deployment of our customers’ mission and safety critical applications. We have deep technical knowledge
of software systems, electronics instruments and measurement technology, especially as applied across
embedded systems.
Using off-the-shelf equipment from all the major manufactures of test electronics including National
Instruments, we develop efficient and effective testing environments for software verification, software
Formal Qualification Testing (FQT), and hardware Acceptance Test Plan (ATP). We specialize in designing
test equipment early in the life cycle allowing the design and development talent to stay busy and ensuring
the final verification of the Unit Under Test (UUT).
TES is an Alliance Partner with National Instruments utilizing their world-class test equipment hardware
and software solutions. TES can provide value-added plug-ins and engineering services creating powerful
test stations using NI’s award winning LabVIEW Environment.

With years of experience performing testing engineering services, TES understands the importance of designing test equipment and procedures into the
implementation phase all the way through certification. Finding and correcting anomalies earlier in the life-cycle saves cost and schedule and reduces risk
substantially. TES can accept your LRU requirements; design test equipment and software test harnesses; build and verify the equipment; and then create the
test procedures to verify your LRU, all in-house.
