Defensive assets tend to carry lower risk, but are therefore
more likely to generate lower returns over the long term.
From time to time we may adjust the mix of assets, for example
due to investment market movements or tactical investment
decisions. We will always keep the overall mix of assets within
12.5% of the Listed Property option’s strategic asset allocation.

In managing the Listed Property option’s assets, we
follow a set of core investment beliefs which you can read
more about on our website.
We manage some of our options’ investment strategies
in-house where we believe external managers have
little comparative advantage. We also appoint external
investment managers to implement specialised investment
strategies. Once we appoint a manager, we agree to terms
stating how they will invest money on our behalf. We then
regularly review each investment manager to ensure they are
compliant with these terms and that the investment manager
remains an appropriate choice to manage your money.
