Documentation Deficiency List
This section lists the known documentation deficiencies of the PM8354 QuadPHY® 1G Data
Sheet, Issue 4, June 2003 (PMC-2012433) as of the publication date of this document.
For each specific deficiency, the location of the passage in question, the deficient text, and the
replacement text are described. New text is shown in bold. Deleted text is scored out.
For more general issues, a description of the nature of the error is given, along with a passage that
correctly describes the concept or device function.
3.1
Measurement Conditions should be stated for High-speed
Output Amplitude and rise/fall times
The measurement conditions for the high-speed output specifications of output amplitude and
rise/fall times should be stated in the Notes section under the Table.

3.1.2
Additional Text
5.
High Speed output peak-peak differential voltages are measured with 100-ohm external
differential termination at the pin of the device.
6.
Rise and Fall times (tr, tf) measured with board trace, connector and approximately 2.5pf
load.

Power depends upon the operating mode. Please refer to Table 26 - D.C Characteristics to determine
operating power.
Notes
1.
The minimum ambient temperature requirement for Central Office Equipment approximates the minimum
ambient temperature requirement for Commercial Equipment.
2.
Short-term is used as defined in Telcordia Technologies Generic Requirements GR-63-Core Core.
3.
qJA is the total junction to ambient thermal resistance as measured according to JEDEC Standard JESD51
(2S2P).
4.
The junction-to-top thermal resistance, qJT, is obtained by simulating conditions described in SEMI Standard
G30-88. The junction-to-board thermal resistance, qJB, is obtained by simulating conditions described in JEDEC
Standard JESD 51-8.

VDDA Power Supply Filtering should specify a standard
capacitor value
The Recommended Power Supply Decoupling shows a 27uF cap on the VDDA power rail. This
value should be changed to 33uF as this is the closest standard value available. A 33uF capacitor
will provide sufficient filtering to the VDDA power rail.
