Demonstrate graph linear functions and develop equations for straight lines. Demonstrate graph quadratic functions by sketching features as well as point plotting, symmetry and translations. Graph rational functions. Determine whether a function is one-to-one and, if so, find the inverse function. If a student misses four or more classes, the student will either be withdrawn by the instructor or he/she will receive a failing grade for the course. Attendance will be taken at the discretion of the professor and can be taken multiple times. If you are not in class while attendance is being taken, you will be considered absent without exception (there are no tardies). If a student must miss class, the student must contact the professor prior to the absence to receive any additional consideration (if applicable). Students will only receive additional accomodation if they were admitted to a hopsital etc. Electronic Device Use and Email Policy: Cell phones must be turned to vibrate during class and if you are expecting an emergency call you must take the phone outside the classroom before answering. Texting and web-surfing is not allowed at any time. CELL PHONES WILL NOT BE PERMITTED DURING EXAMS AND MUST BE SHUT OFF. IF A STUDENT IS FOUND TAKING THEIR CELL PHONE TO THE BATHROOM DURING AN EXAM, THIS WILL BE CONSIDERED A VIOLATION OF THE ACADEMIC POLICY. Late Assignment Policy: Students are expected to complete the assigned homework (odds from textbook) and reviews to prepare for the exams. No late assignments will be accepted. Make-up Exam Policy: There will be NO makeup exams and students will receive a ZERO on all missed exams. If a student notifies the instructor by email BEFORE the day of the scheduled exam and the professor deems a makeup warranted (such as a hospital visit overlapping with a scheduled exam) a makeup may be given but otherwise no makeups will be afforded to any students. Withdrawal Policy: If a student misses any classes in the first two weeks of the course or misses four classes cummatively throughout the semester, the student will be withdrawn from the course by the instructor. The withdrawal deadline date for this course is November 25th, 2015. Students may withdraw anytime before then. Final Course Grade Appeal The evaluation of academic work is the responsibility of the faculty member/instructor. If this policy changes during the term, students should be notified of any changes in writing.
