schlemmer - quality harness protection systems
The Schlemmer Group are world leaders in the

number of off highway, construction equipment
and specialist vehicle manufacturers to
help ensure electrical reliability in extreme

55 years Schlemmer has a proven reputation for

PA6 (Nylon)
PPmod (HIGH TEMP)
PA6 (Nylon) is ideal
for applications
that require a
conduit with
high impact and
abrasion protection
with outstanding
chemical resistance.
PPmod (High
Temperature
Polypropylene)
makes for a flexible
conduit with good
impact and abrasion
resistance and can
withstand a broad range of chemicals.
PA6 (Nylon) conforms to FMVSS302,
is flame retardant, halogen free and
maintains excellent flexibility in
temperature extremes of -40°C to
+120°C.
PPmod has a working temperature
range of -40°C to +135°C, is self
extinguishing and conforms to
FMVSS302.
PA6 (Nylon) conduit is supplied nonsplit making it ideal for mining and fuel
haul applications when used with the
extensive range of Schlemmer sealed
fittings.
PPmod (High Temperature
Polypropylene) conduit is supplied in
a 'Lockable' format making it ideal for
use in engine bays, open environment
applications or for application after a
harness has been installed.
Schlemmer Fittings
Schlemmer offer a wide range of sealed and unsealed
harness protection adaptors and fittings to suit almost any
application.
The Sealed Fittings range
including Quickconnect,
Threadconnect Adaptor Kits, and
Threadconnect ‘T’ Piece Fittings
offer an international protection
rating IP67 allowing for a completely sealed harness setup.
The SEM-FAST Adaptor Kit range offers
an even higher rating of IP68.
When a completely sealed harness is
not required Hinged ‘T’ & ‘Y’ Fittings are
a handy snap-lock solution for harness
division.
A selection of fitting

PP (Standard)
PP (Standard
Polypropylene)
is used in the
manufacture of
basic automotive
conduit.
FMVSS302
compliant, a temperature range of
-40°C to +105°C with basic impact,
abrasion and chemical resistance.
PP (Standard Polypropylene) is ideal
for vehicle interior, chassis and body
sections.
PP (Standard Polypropylene) conduit
is only available in split configuration
and is compatible with a wide range
of Schlemmer Hinged Fittings and
Quickconnect / SEM-FAST adaptors.
Deutsch Backshells
Deutsch Backshells are designed
and manufactured by Deutsch
specifically for protecting
wiring between conduit and DT
connector.
Each Backshell accepts multiple
sizes and types of conduit including Schlemmer PA6, PP Split,
and PPmod Lockable.
Utilising a twin clamp design each Backshell securely fastens
to 3 sizes of Schlemmer corrugated
conduit without the need for additional
tooling.
The rear housing of each Backshell
features a ridged ring providing a
steadfast gripping area for heatshrink
application.
The comprehensive range of Backshells
includes both straight and 90° versions
suiting the entire range of Deutsch DT
Series connectors.
NW Size Cross Reference
Due to varying sizing methods and manufacturer interpretations there are different sizing formats used for PA6,PP Split
and PPmod Lockable conduit.

For use in applications that demand excellent flexibility,
high levels of physical resistance and the ability to
withstand the extremes of high and low temperatures.
Schlemmer Polyflex PA6 (Nylon) is self extinguishing,
halogen free and has an outstanding resistance to a wide
variety of chemicals, oils and solvents.
Polyflex PA6 conduit can be used in both high and low
voltage fields and when used with the appropriate fittings
allows for sealed harnesses with a rating of up to IP68.

Polyflex PPmod Lockable conduit has been specifically
developed to incorporate the convenience of a split
conduit combined with the benefits and security of an
non-split conduit.
The locking mechanism provides a secure seal which can
be simply reopened after locking to allow access to the
harness without damaging the conduit in the process.
Constructed from modified polypropylene, this high heat
resistant conduit is suitable for a variety of applications
including extreme temperature applications.

Single Cable
Insertion Tool
Insert the point of the single cable insertion
tool into end of conduit with cable as shown.
While holding end of conduit with cable, pull
the insertion tool down the length of conduit.
Hold
Universal Cable

Polypropylene (PP) Split
Polypropylene (PP) Split conduit is a basic harness
protection conduit for use in a wide variety of
applications.
Manufactured from polypropylene it has moderate
temperature and abrasion resistance.
Compatible with a wide selection of the Schlemmer
Hinged and Quickconnect / SEM-FAST fittings.

SEM-FAST Adaptor Kits
SEM FAST is the latest adaptor range from Schlemmer.
The new design utilises special locking clamps
which automatically insert themselves between the
corrugations of the conduit.
A harness with an International Protection rating of
IP68 can be achieved by using the supplied 'O' Ring in
conjunction with Polyflex PA6 (Nylon) conduit.

To create a seal of up to IP68 use the supplied 'O' Ring in
the first groove of the conduit.
Insert conduit into already 'closed' SEM-FAST adaptor
and firmly push in until locking clamps catch.
To remove fitting use a small flat blade screwdriver to
disengage clamps from conduit.

Threadconnect Adaptor Kits are available in a large variety
of thread sizes allowing attachment to pre-threaded
housings and for through panel applications.
A protection rating of IP67 can be achieved by using the

For maximum effectiveness the
conical seal must be placed at least
two corrugations back from the end of
the conduit, as shown above.
When tightening 90° Kits, the locking
washer will click into the groves in the
cap nut ensuring a secure, slip-free
IP67* rated connection.

Threadconnect Fittings utilise a traditional compression
design and are supplied complete with the necessary cap
nuts and sealing rings to enable an IP67 sealed T junction
used in a conduit run.
A locking ‘T’ Piece version is offered providing additional
security through the use of a lock washer preventing the
cap nut from coming loose.
The versatility of this range is extended whilst retaining
the waterproof seal of IP67 by utilising Threadconnect
Reducers - page 16.

Threadconnect Reducers
Threadconnect Reducers can be used to adapt the outlet
of a sealed 'T' Piece to accept a smaller diameter conduit.
Tightening the cap nut compresses the Neoprene conical
seal around the inserted conduit and maintains an
international protection rating of IP67.

The Schlemmer range of one piece hinged snap-lock
fittings make junction creation an easy task when
required in applications where a completely sealed
harness is not required or for use with PP Split conduit.
The various combinations of outlet diameters allow for
the secure attachment of different sized conduit to a main
harness and can be used with PA6, PPmod Lockable or PP
Split conduit.
Hinged Fittings are also designed to couple together
using a ‘Hook Up’ outlet allowing the user to create
custom manifold combinations quickly and easily. Hinged
fittings offer protection to a rating of IP54.

Most outside gripping Hinged Fittings feature a single outlet with a protruding
ridged ring used to “hook up” with other Hinged Fittings creating manifolds.
This ridged ring simulates a piece of corrugated conduit allowing other Hinged
Fittings, the next size up, to securely clamp down around it.

Diecast Enclosures - Industrial grade heavy duty die cast
boxes with a flanged base for easy mounting. These units
provide a high degree of RFI & EMI shielding and can be
sealed to IP66 using the supplied gasket, making them
ideal for mining, industrial, agricultural and marine use.
ABS Enclosures - These sturdy enclosures have a wall
thickness of 3mm+ and are UL 94V-0 rated. Mounting
points are molded into the enclosure base and a rating of
IP65 can be achieved by using the supplied neoprene seal.
PVC Enclosures – Solid and lightweight the PVC range
is ideal for applications requiring a basic enclosure. An
international protection rating of IP56 is achieved using
the supplied seal.
Polycarbonate Enclosures - Constructed from sturdy
thermoplastic polycarbonate with stainless steel cover
screws for excellent resistance in harsh conditions. The
larger models (170mm+) feature nylon twist-lock screws
making enclosure access quicker and easier. Sealable to
IP55 and incorporating mounting points on the inside
base.
Fuel Junction Box - This enclosure utilises the mounting
screws from the fuel sender to attach itself allowing all
of the connections to reside in a protected environment.
A protection rating of IP67 can be achieved by using the
supplied seal.

reliable waterproof insulation.
Medium Wall - Features hot melt adhesive and a thicker
wall making it ideal for installations that require an
extremely tough yet lightweight insulation, providing a
higher degree of physical protection.
Thick Wall - Strain Relief Sleeves - Heavy duty
heatshrink used to form an extremely secure connection
between a cable and connector with the highest level of
physical protection.
Hot melt adhesive lines the interior of the sleeve
excluding a 15mm area at one end. This adhesive free area
provides a slip free surface ensuring the sleeve holds fast
to the connector.

Backshells for DT Series
Designed to provide an interface connection between
Schlemmer conduit and DT Series Deutsch connectors.
The innovative design of the Backshell allows each unit
to accommodate several different sizes of conduit. The
Backshells provide secure attachment to PA6, PPmod
Lockable or PP Split conduit, and are designed to facilitate
the attachment of heat shrink to rear of housing.
The Backshell range is available for the entire standard
Deutsch DT range.
