lower choice were not counted even though some actually enrolled. Students listing KU as their first choice may
choose to attend another university and not notify National Merit.
Two students deferred enrollment until the 1998-99 academic year. One student deferred until 2000-01 academic
year. One student deferred until 2001-02 academic year. One student deferred until 2002-03 academic year. One
student deferred until Spring 2004. One student deferred until Spring 2005. One student deferred until Fall 2007.
Two students deferred until Fall 2010.
The National Achievement Scholarships are being discontinued at the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
