Self-Test Ground Fault Receptacle With Diagnostic Technology WIRING DEVICES CIRCUITPRO™ CIRCUITPRO™ The CIRCUITPRO™ advantage, the Ground Fault Receptacle that actually tests itself! History Major technology step Historically, GFCI receptacles have relied entirely on the user to verify the protection capability of the unit. Users are required to press the “test & reset” button to confirm that the product is functioning correctly. The timing of this test, as recommended by manufacturers and agencies such as UL & CSA, is a minimum of one time per month. This test provides critical information relating to the functionality of the device and its ability to provide people protection. Despite this once a month requirement, it is apparent most consumers often neglect this essential task. Bryant has taken a significant step forward in addressing the concern of relying on users to test the device regularly. CIRCUITPRO not only continuously monitors for a ground fault condition, but also tests itself every 60 seconds to verify its ability to protect. This is a major benefit when you compare the frequency of user testing as stated above. This test process is accomplished utilizing software and is invisible to the overall function of the unit. Innovative self-test technology • Continuous electronic sensing & testing, utilizing diagnostic software • Continuous verification of GFCI protection capability • Immediate indication if GFCI has lost the ability to protect • Complementary test mode available by manually operating the “test and reset” button • Complementary autosensing mode for immediate interruption of ground fault condition ADDITIONAL DIFFERENTIATING FEATURES WITH CIRCUITPRO™ • Reverse Wire Safety Feature – meets new UL 943 requirement of no power at face or downstream if line and load are reversed. • Surge Withstand – meets all UL surge requirements by utilizing a heavy duty Metal Oxide Varistor for continuous power and surge protection without relying on an inoperative lock out condition. • 10,000 Amp Short Circuit Rating – for applications where a potential for high current short circuit conditions exist such as industrial power centers, disconnects and motor centers. • Manual Whole System Test – a simulated ground fault leakage current is sent to the printed circuit board. This causes the mechanical system to react based on the action of the solenoid. The entire mechanical and electronic GFCI system is checked for functionality. This comprehensive approach to testing is a Bryant exclusive.
