Israeli medical device company NLT SPINE opens new U.S. office in
Dedham, Massachusetts
DEDHAM, Mass. – March 12, 2013 – NLT SPINE, an Israeli developer of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery
(MISS) products, and the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) today announced the opening of the
company’s first U.S. subsidiary located in temporary office space in Dedham, Mass. The new office will support
the commercialization of its advanced technology platform. NLT SPINE is based in Kfar Saba, Israel.
NLT Spine is the third Israeli medical device company to announce plans to locate an office or subsidiary in
Massachusetts since the Governor’s trade mission to Israel in 2011.
“Establishing the U.S. base of operations in Massachusetts was an easy decision for us,” said Tom Keegan, Vice
President of Business Development and U.S. Marketing for NLT SPINE. “It is an area that is rich with expertise in
the life sciences. Logistically, it works well for travel in and out of the U.S. for NLT SPINE employees from Israel,
and it is an excellent hub for convenient access to the rest of the country.”
NLT SPINE plans to hire up to three employees in Massachusetts by the end of 2013. The company expects to
hire eight to 10 additional employees in Massachusetts, and 10 to 15 independent sales representatives across
the U.S. during 2014.

NLT SPINE specializes in the development and marketing of innovative MISS products for treating degenerative

spinal conditions. Following the initial positive results from clinical experience with its PROW FUSION
TM
intervertebral body fusion device and the eSPIN discectomy tool, backed by its strong IP portfolio, NLT SPINE
is preparing for the commercialization of its platform in the U.S. market.
NLT SPINE was recently awarded and named “one of the 10 most promising start-up firms of 2012” by The
Globes, a leading news source for business, finance and technology in Israel. The company was selected for its
unique innovation and wide potential applicability of its non-linear technology platform.
Through the MLSC, Massachusetts is investing $1 billion over 10 years in the growth of the state’s life sciences
supercluster. These investments are being made under the Massachusetts Life Sciences Initiative, proposed by
Governor Patrick in 2007, and passed by the State Legislature and signed into law by Governor Patrick in 2008.
