WILSON
Aluminum Bi-fold Door
The gold standard of hangar doors.
Just as aluminum provides superior, yet lightweight, strength in the
framing of most commercial buildings today, Wilson’s Premier door –
made of aircraft-grade aluminum – is lighter, yet stronger than steelframed doors. And regardless of how harsh the environment is,
because it’s aluminum, it won’t corrode. Perhaps best of all, you can
achieve any look you desire with the Premier, because you can clad it
with just about any building material you want.
HANGAR DOORS
Architectural flexibility
Because you can sheathe it as you wish, you can accentuate the Premier door,
camouflage it, or turn it into an opening, closing wall of daylight windows.
Made to size for you to customize
Custom-fabricated to your specifications, eliminating the need for building
modifications or product “adaptations” in the field.
Saves valuable building space
Elevates within the threshold and requires little or no head room or wall
clearance, leaving more usable space, both inside and out.
Economical modular construction
Bolts together for quick, easy installation with no field-welding. And it attaches
to a simple header, requiring little, if any, extra structural support.
Single-source responsibility
With Wilson’s Premier door, you get single-source responsibility throughout
the entire sales process, including delivery via one of Wilson’s companyowned vehicles, as well as assembly and installation supervision by a trained
Wilson technician.

insulating and heating a building. Includes second
bottom rubber seal, to seal against the ground and a
foam seal for centerfold of door. Priced per linear foot.
3-BUTTON CONTROL STATION – Features
Up/Down/Stop buttons (Standard is 2-button constant
pressure switch.) Includes mechanical upper override
disconnect and photo eye.

momentary-contact control with Up/Down/Stop buttons,
photo sensor eye, and upper override disconnect.
RADIO CONTROL – Hand-held radio control with
two transmitters, a receiver and an external antenna.
Requires auto lock and 3-button control station.
SENSING EDGE – Electric sensing edge reverses the
door in the event it contacts an object. Priced per
linear foot of door.
THRU-BEAM PHOTO EYE – If an object breaks the
beam of the photo eye, the door reverses and is held
open until it is reset. Standard with 3-button control
station.
UPPER OVERRIDE DISCONNECT– Mechanical
back-up switch that disconnects power to door if
upper limit fails or if limit is overridden. Standard
with 3-button control box.
SOLAR POWER – Designed for remote areas where
standard electrical power is not available or is cost
prohibitive. The system is self-contained and operates
the door electrically.
ANY OTHER ITEMS: Please call for information on
other available options.
POWER OPERATOR – All electrical controls are
designed to meet National Electrical Code Section
513. Standard voltage is 230V single phase. The gear
motor is equipped with an electric brake and will
hold the door in any position during its travel. A
magnetic starter with constant-pressure pushbutton
controls is standard. Heavy-duty rotary limit switch
is weather proof. All controls are pre-wired and
factory tested.
LIFT CABLES – 3/16-inch galvanized steel aircraft
cables are sized and numerous enough to provide a
5:1 safety factor. Lift cables are not threaded through
pulleys, but fastened directly to the top hinge, transmitting forces to the header of building, eliminating
undue stress. Cable guards are provided to protect
against inadvertent contact.
DRIVE SHAFT– The drive shaft is mounted on the
bottom panel and runs continuously along the entire
width of door. The cable drums are an integral part of
the drive shaft, ensuring an even lift of the door at all
times. The shaft and drums are heavy-duty galvanized
steel tubing.
LOCKING MECHANISM – A single-lever manual
locking mechanism is standard. The lever eliminates
the need to manually latch and unlatch both ends of
the door. A “kill switch” or “lock switch” is standard
and shuts off the power to the motor until the door is
unlocked, eliminating the risk of damage.
Optional auto-locks lock and unlock the door with a
push of a button.
MATERIAL CONSTRUCTION – 6061-T6 aircraft
aluminum alloy construction is lighter, yet stronger
than steel. The lightweight construction reduces the
need for shoring up the building structure.
Additionally, the aircraft aluminum frame resists
corrosion and maintains a crisp, clean raw aluminum
finish for years to come.
Simple bolt-together, modular construction provides
for quick and easy installation. No field-welding
required.
SEALS – Doors are furnished with full-perimeter seals
— a soft rubber top seal, neoprene side seals and a
bottom loop that hugs the contour of the ground.
COMPONENTS – Hinges are zinc-plated steel, to
resist corrosion and are furnished complete. All bearings are either sealed or outfitted with grease fittings.
DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION – Delivery via a
Wilson company truck, operated by a Wilson Service
Technician. The driver supervises the installation of
the door.

sheathing or framing for the door opening.
