SUPER TANKER SET-UP INSTRUCTIONS Congratulations on the purchase of your new Super Tanker water storage container. This container was designed to minimize valuable water storage space and maximize water storage volumes in a vertical cylinder complete with a gravity fed dispensing system. This tank is manufactured utilizing a superior rotation mold process using the finest High Density Food Grade Polyethylene (HDPE) material. This process produces a seamless container engineered to withstand the excessive weight of large volumes of water for long term storage. Please note that any areas of the tank that resemble seams are only flange marks from the mold, this rotation molded tank is seamless. PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY BEFORE FILLING YOUR TANK TO VALIDATE YOUR WARRANTY and to provide you with the cleanest and safest water storage. We recommend the initial set up be done on your driveway, patio, and sidewalk or near a floor drain in your basement in the following order: 1. Remove the exterior clear plastic shipping bag by clipping the zip tie on top. 2. Remove the plastic dust caps from the two brass bulkhead fittings located bottom center and 16.5” up from the bottom, right of center on the front of the tank. 3. RINSE/FLUSH BEFORE FILLING: With the tank standing vertically, lean the front of the tank forward and remove the black cap on top of the tank by unscrewing counter clockwise. Rinse/flush the inside of the tank thoroughly with a potable water safe hose and spray nozzle to remove any foreign material or manufacturing dust. (We highly recommend that you do not use a regular garden hose to rinse or fill your tank due to unsafe recycled materials used in most garden hoses. Potable safe hoses can be purchased at Authorized Super Tanker Dealers, recreation vehicle businesses that sell vacation trailers and motor homes, or some hardware stores). Ensure that all rinse water drains through the open brass bulkhead on the bottom of the tank. 4. POSITIONING TANK: After you are confidant that the tank is thoroughly rinsed and drained, position the tank in its final location that allows you to easily fill the tank from the top open cap port. Ensure that this position allows you to easily dispense water in the future from both the spigot and ball valve fittings. 5. WARNING: This tank must be installed on a level concrete surface capable of maintaining up to 1400 lbs (637 kg) load for the 135 Super Tanker or up to 2900 lbs. (1319 kg) load for the 275 Super Tanker. DO NOT position and fill your Super Tanker on a truss floor system on the main floor of your home. 6. EXPANDTION: Please note that when the Super Tanker is full of water, the side walls are engineered to expand out approximately 2 ½” on both sides. Therefore, before you fill your tank with water, ensure that you position the tank at least 5” away from any wall or objects on all 4 sides of your tank. 7. BARRIER: Place some sort of a barrier larger than the footprint of the tank underneath the tank between the tank bottom and the concrete floor. We recommend a piece of Coroplast (corrugated plastic sheet material typically used for making signs), linoleum flooring, or a piece of plywood free of any splinters or protruding nails or sharp edges/objects. 8. INSTALL FITTINGS: When the tank is in its final position, screw the spigot into the top brass bulkhead and then the brass nipple end of the brass ball valve into the bottom brass bulkhead. PLEASE NOTE that the threads on both the spigot and the brass nipple of the brass ball valve already have Teflon tape applied to them. Please do not apply any additional Teflon tape to these treads. To avoid over tightening the spigot and ball valve into the brass bulkheads, ensure that these fittings are screwed into the bulkheads straight to avoid cross threading and only tighten firmly/securely in an upright position by hand, no wrenches needed for the plastic spigot. 9. FILL TANK PARTIALLY: When the spigot and ball valve are securely tightened and in the upright positions, fill the tank from the top open cap port up to the 100 gallon mark (400 liters) level just above the top spigot bulkhead. 10. DRY FITTING SURFACES: Let the 100 gallons of water inside the tank stand for about 10 to 15 minutes to ensure the fitting are installed tight enough with no water leaks where the fittings are screwed into the bulkheads. Wipe down all surfaces where the spigot and ball valve are screwed into both bulkheads with a clean dry cloth to remove any standing water. 11. HIGH & DRY TEST: To complete the high & dry test, wipe your dry finger on the underside of the threads where the spigot and ball valve nipple screw into the brass bulkheads. If your finger has any amount of water on it, you can afford to tighten that fitting ONE more revolution (no more than one revolution at a time before checking for any further leakage using a dry finger). 12. FILL TANK COMPLETELY: Check several times for water leaks around threaded fittings, if you finger is dry, then you have passed the “High & Dry Test” and you are now ready to fill your tank completely. 13. PURIFYING/FILTERING YOUR WATER: Water experts recommend that regular chlorinated tap water stored long term has a limited shelf life and should be rotated ideally every 6 months. To purify or maximize the shelf life of water stored in your Super Tanker, please consult with your Super Tanker Dealer for a recommended effective water additive product to treat your stored water for up to 5 years or a water filtration system for water dispensed from your Super Tanker. 14. DISPENCING WATER – WARNING: Before dispensing water from the spigot or ball valve, you must remove the black cap from the top of the tank to avoid an airlock inside the tank. 15. DRAINING SUPER TANKER - WARNING: Before draining the tank from the spigot or ball valve, you must remove the black cap from the top of the tank to avoid an airlock inside the tank. For best results, attach a potable hose to the hose bib fitting on the end of the ball valve and run the hose to a floor drain. DO NOT DRAIN WATER WITHOUT REMOVING BLACK CAP from the top of the tank for maximum airflow, then open the ball valve and drain. 16. OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS: Avoid sharp objects that may puncture, avoid over tightening fittings, avoid exposure to intense heat or extreme freezing temperatures, avoid exposure to UV rays to prevent algae growth in water. WARRANTY: Warranty against defect in materials and workmanship is valid for a period of 3 years from the date of manufacturing. Warranty is void if any and all instructions are not completely adhered to as stated in the “Super Tanker Set-Up Instructions”. This tank was designed for water storage only, warranty void if used to store any other fluids or chemicals, abrasive or accidental damage; misuse or abuse; inadequate or improper installation or maintenance; unauthorized alterations and repairs occur.
