Due to ongoing Welfare Reform, and the effect it is having on disabled people we understand these events are crucial as we continue to see the impact these changes are having on disabled people. The exhibition will be open to the public from 10am to 3pm. As well as the exhibition area in the main hall, they have also booked the Ante Room and are hoping to include some workshops/demonstrations into the programme. BDDA would like to take this opportunity to invite you along as an exhibitor to the event, as we feel your services greatly benefit the people of our community and by working together we can give the best advice and information available. If you know of any other organisations who may wish to exhibit please feel free to forward this email to them. You can contact us by email to reception.dabs@gmail.com or by telephone on 01229 432599 and ask for June. Free School Clothing Grant Parents of children starting school in September are being urged to remember to apply for free school meals, even though since last year all children in reception and years 1 and 2 have been automatically entitled. This is because if eligible parents do not apply, they miss out on a free school clothing grant provided by the county council worth £25 (or £35 for secondary pupils) and their child’s school misses out on a £1,300 Pupil Premium payment from government; these payments allow schools to provide extra support to pupils to help them achieve their potential. http://www.cumbria.gov.uk/childrensservices/schoolsandlearning/fsm.asp 9 Women’s Community Matters Want to Know Your Feedback At Women's Community Matters we work hard to ensure that what we offer is what women want. In order to do this we regularly ask those who use the Centre what they think. We ask agencies we work with to give us their feedback and we ask women who may visit us in the future what they think of what's on offer. In this way, we hope to continue to grow in the way that best supports the needs of vulnerable women in our community and stay alongside them as they make positive changes in their lives. If you have 2 minutes to spare it would help us greatly if you could answer 8 quick questions ... more than half are tick boxes :-) With thanks in advance and please share with those you think may also be interested in sharing their opinions.
