Dear “Adopt-a-Breaker” Supporter:
We are very excited to let you know that the UCM Breakers are still participating in service over their spring
break. This student organization has been taking Alternative Spring Breaks since 1996. As you know, we are
not traveling to traditional spring break spots, like many students, for a week of partying and lying on the
beach. We are spending our break helping others with Habitat for Humanity, International.
As you can imagine, the costs of transportation to and from the site combined with costs of gas and food for
the week are quite significant. Attached with this letter you will find information about “Adopt-a-Breaker”
and how to make a donation. This donation will allow you to contribute directly to the expenses of a
Breakers spring break trip. Any contributions will make a huge difference not only in terms of each member
participation, but also helping to make this specific trip possible for other students. You can find out more

Please take the time to fill out the donation form and learn more details about the ways you can help. Our
hope and desire is to make a difference in the lives of those we are helping as well as make an impact on our
group.
Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have concerning the Breakers spring break program and
how you can help us to make a difference. Your donation is greatly appreciated and will enable a diverse
group of students to envelop themselves in an atmosphere that they would otherwise not experience. As

Adopt-a-Breaker Form
Thank you for adopting a Breaker! Your donation will help to provide an UCM student with a quality servicebased learning experience. Every dollar we raise goes directly to trip expenses.
You may adopt more than one student if you wish.
The levels below are to give you an idea of the costs for a trip. Feel free to select one or more of them or
choose a different amount:
___ Bronze Level – I will cover a student’s food for a day. ($10)
___ Silver Level – I will provide some supplies such as a first aid kit. ($25)
___ Gold Level – I will cover the fuel costs for one student. ($55)
___ Platinum Level – I will feed a student for the entire week. ($60)
___ Diamond Level – I will cover ½ of a student’s entire fundraising goal. ($250)
___ Hero Level – I will cover the student’s entire fundraising goal. ($500)
___ Superman Level – I want to see this trip succeed so badly I’ll cover two people! ($1,000)
