POWER DISTRIBUTION CENTER (PDC) 5KV - 38KV
Whether your equipment needs to be environmentally controlled or protected from the
elements we can help you find a solution. All PDC's are fully factory engineered and
assembled metal enclosures containing electrical equipment for distribution, control, fault
protection, instrumentation and other items as required and built to your specifications.
Enclosure dimensions up to 32-Ft wide and 146-Ft long; self supporting base designed for
minimal deflection with single point lifting; floors designed for 250 psf total loading; walls and
roof designed to meet snow/ice loading and wind velocities to your specification. Many
optional features including UPS systems, Battery systems, external stairs, platforms and
railing, HVAC Systems, fire rated walls, fire protection systems, computer floors, plumbing
fixtures, eye wash stations, etc are available.
METAL ENCLOSED SWITCHGEAR
Myers manufactures metal enclosed load interrupter switchgear for low maintenance applications
such as medium voltage disconnects, utility metering and unit substations; providing a cost
effective solution for utility, industrial, tunneling and commercial applications where switching is
infrequent and there is no need for quick reclosing of the protective circuit. In these situations, the
integrated protective relaying functions of the LIS gear eliminate the need for more expensive
metal-clad switchgear with circuit breakers. Designs are available for manually or motor operated,
non-fused or fused with current limiting or expulsion fuses, in 5kV, 15kV, 27kV and 38 kV voltage
classes, with 600A or 1200A continuous ratings and with 40 or 61 kA short circuit ratings.
Myers has extensive experience working with both the larger and smaller utility companies across
the US; relieving our customers from the headache of keeping up with these dynamic and often
stringent standards. A key feature of the LIS offering is that Myers can also provide this equipment
as either the main disconnect or as feeders for a Primary or Secondary Unit Substation, with the
transformer and secondary distribution gear integrated on a skid with NEMA 3R or stainless steel
enclosures.
LOW VOLTAGE SWITCHGEAR
Myers’ newest generation of low voltage switchgear features the latest in power circuit
breaker technology; utilizing GE EntelliGuard®G, Cutler Hammer Magnum Series, ABB Emax
or Siemens WL lines of low voltage power circuit breakers (100% rated with state-of-the-art
trip units). These units are designed for maximum continuity of service in severe duty
applications, while delivering enhanced arc flash protection. The switchgear houses these
breakers, together with other advanced protection and control devices, and arc flash relays in
single or multiple source designs and can serve as a power distribution unit or as part of a unit
substation; providing commercial, industrial, and utility customers with a superior solution to
their switchgear needs.
METAL-CLAD SWITCHGEAR 5KV - 38KV
Myers combines the features of metal-clad construction with vacuum interrupter technology
in the manufacture and design of a superior class of medium voltage switchgear. Vacuum
interrupter technology is recognized for its many benefits over other arc interruption
technologies. Its clean, quiet, durable design continues to offer customers reliable service
throughout the world. Designed, assembled and tested to meet or exceed applicable ANSI/
IEEE, and NEMA standards. UL certification available by request.
Myers has expanded its product line to include arc detection switchgear for customers who
require additional operating safety. Arc detection switchgear is available in 4.16kV through
38kV.
SECONDARY UNIT SUBSTATION (SUS)
Myers SUS's are the ideal solution for your electrical power distribution needs providing
many salient features with design flexibility. Myers manufactures SUS's in indoor, outdoor or
skid mounted configurations with several options:
• HV Sections Up To 61kAIC Primary Fusible Switch, 2.4 - 38kV; Primary Breaker,
2.4-38kV; HV Terminal Chamber
• Transformer Section up to 5MVA Liquid Filled Transformers, high fire point oil or
silicon or Dry Type Transformers, Vacuum pressure impregnated or cast coil
• Outgoing Section Up To 200 kAIC Secondary Main, 208Y/120V or 480Y/277V
• Circuit Breakers Molded Case, Insulated Case, LV Air Power
RELAY AND CONTROL SWITCHBOARD
Myers manufactures Control Switchboards to meet a variety of needs configured to your
specification including vertical, open or enclosed construction. Relay and Control
Switchboards available with dual, duplex, control desk, fixed rack cabinet and swing rack
cabinets.
ANSI/IEEE C37.21
Myers’ low voltage switchgear is available with main bus ratings from 600 to 10,000 amps,
600 VAC, 200 kA symmetrical short circuit maximum, and 50/60Hz. The switchgear is
designed to NEMA standards, in accordance with ANSI C37.20.1 and is UL1558 listed.
BLAST RESISTANT PDC
Blast resistant power distribution centers offer the same integrated solution as the normal
power distribution centers with a modular, climate controlled building, designed, wired,
tested, and completely factory assembled, with electrical equipment installed inside. The
added feature of blast resistance allows continuous operation with minimal downtime for
those critical plant processes as well as employee safety. The blast resistant power
distribution center aids the end user with compliance of API RP 752. ("Management of

EPOXY COATED BUS BAR
Myers manufactures a full line of epoxy coated bus bar through its in-house Fluidized Bed
(Fusion Bonded) coating process.
Myers Epoxy Coated Bus Bar is available in 5kV, 15kV, 27kV and 38kV. All ratings 3rd party
tested and approved.
Myers designs and manufactures Bus Bar in Aluminum and Copper with Silver Plated or
optional Tin Plated connections.
