Vice President, Corporate Partnerships The Vice President of Corporate Partnerships is a member of the Corporate Development Team and reports to the SVP, Corporate Partnerships. The Vice President of Corporate Partnerships is responsible for working with corporations (and other organizations) to support the mission of the National Park Foundation (NPF) through philanthropic support, cause marketing, sponsorships and licensing. The Vice President (VP) of Corporate Partnerships will pursue corporate partnerships in certain assigned categories as well as manage relationships with these partners. S/he will be responsible for developing effective corporate development strategies which includes research and prospecting; partner cultivation, solicitation, management and stewardship; proposal development; contract negotiation, development and execution; and management of recognition and benefits related to corporate partner commitments. The VP of Corporate Partnerships also will play a key role in building and cultivating corporate sponsorship and activations related to the upcoming centennial celebration of the National Park Service in 2016. In 2016 the National Park Service will celebrate a significant milestone—its 100th anniversary. It will be a moment to celebrate and reflect – but most importantly an opportunity to re-introduce and reengage the American people to their national parks. In anticipation of the Centennial Celebration, the National Park Foundation, in close partnership with the National Park Service, will be launching a multiyear major campaign to help identify, secure, and fund education, outreach, and environmental programs in parks at the historic sites and monuments. You will be joining this growing organization at an exciting, pivotal, moment in the 45 year history of the National Park Foundation and the 100 year history of the National Park Service. Responsibilities and Duties: Contribute to annual corporate development goal of at least $9M annually and forge partnerships that generate marketing exposure and other benefits for the Foundation and, ultimately, America’s national parks and our partner, the National Park Service. Play a lead role in building corporate sponsorships around the upcoming centennial celebration of the National Park Service. Solicit, cultivate, and steward prospective corporate partners to support NPF through philanthropic support, cause marketing, and sponsorships. Develop proposals and deliver presentations to both corporate marketing and corporate foundation prospects. Negotiate, develop and execute contracts with corporate partners. Oversee relationship management responsibility for select partners. Manage execution of recognition and benefits related to corporate partner commitments including program activation, signage, online and offline communication channels, and collateral materials. Work with internal representatives from Grants & Programs, Marketing and Communications, and Community Partnerships as well as other departments to develop and execute corporate partnerships. Interact with NPF board members and senior leadership in cultivation of corporate partnerships. Provide account briefings and reporting on corporate development activity on a regular basis. Adhere to NPF brand standards and policies as well as those of our partner, the National Park Service. Demonstrate a commitment to NPF, the National Park Service, and America’s national parks. Requirements: Completion of Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of successful fundraising and/or business development experience, preferably for a national nonprofit or association. Demonstrated success in corporate fundraising solicitation, cause marketing, sponsorship, management, building strategic corporate partnerships and cultivation of corporate commitments. A good understanding of current marketing principles, metrics, platforms (i.e. social media, email communication, etc.), and methodology. Strong, effective communications and presentation skills that engage and persuade high-profile, major corporate prospects to support NPF. National non-profit experience strongly preferred, but not required. Ability to travel regularly required – approximately 50% The Vice President of Corporate Partnerships must be: Committed to and enthusiastic about the mission of the National Park Foundation and the National Park Service. Adept at taking initiative, planning, prioritizing, organizing and following through. A strong communicator – both oral and written – particularly with respect to proposal writing, delivering presentations and interacting with corporate partners. Able to work independently in a changing environment but also as part of a team with internal and external participants and stakeholders. Interest and experience in working in an entrepreneurial environment and/or participation in a major fundraising campaign Creative, strategic, dependable, honest and trustworthy with a highly developed sense of responsibility.
