12V 300W CLASS 2 Dimmable Driver This driver is to be installed in accordance with Article 450 of the National Electric Code (NEC). This driver must be installed in a well-ventilated area free from explosive gases and vapors. Proper operation requires the free flow of air. As this transformer is hardwired, it should only be installed by a qualified electrician. READ ALL INFORMATION PRIOR TO INSTALLATION TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Rated Wattage: 300W Enclosure: Steel, powder coated Input Voltage: 120V AC Frequency: 60Hz Input Current: 2.8A , maximum no load input current: 0.6A Output Voltage: Without Boost: 11.6V DC With Boost: 12.6V DC Output Power: 6 Circuits 12V DC @ 50W / 4.2A Environment: Indoor only Working Temperature: Enclosure temperature does not exceed 70º C in a 40º C ambient, fully loaded. Ambient Operating Temperature: -20º C ~ 40 º C 7” INSTALLATION & WARNING • This driver is for indoor use ONLY. • Shut off power at the main breaker before attempting installation. • For use with an ON/OFF switch or a compatible Magnetic Low Voltage (MLV) dimmer switch. Visit the online page of this product for a detailed list of compatible dimmers. • Once installation is complete, turn on power at the main breaker. 3.2” DIMMABLE SETUP • ONLY use recommended 120V MLV Dimmers. Please visit the online product page for a detailed list of compatible dimmers. • Dimmers may vary in function. Always review dimmer manufacturer instructions for proper installation and use. 7” MOUNTING • Driver must be mounted in a dry location with adequate airflow. • N.E.C. requires all drivers to be grounded to the GREEN grounding wire. KNOCKOUTS • Four 1/2” NPT Knockouts are featured on these dimmable drivers • Remove wiring knockouts as needed and install 1/2” Romex connectors or bushings to reduce wire strain. UL 1310 CLASS 2 Wiring Diagram The orange Boost Tap is an optional voltage boost recommended for use with a MLV dimmer, as most MLV dimmers cut down voltage by 10%. Additionally, if the fixture is receiving 10.5V or less in an ON/OFF switch installation, the orange Boost Tap is recommended. Make sure 120V AC Breaker is in the ON position Use a multimeter to check DC output voltage at the lighting source. If lights remain unresponsive, confirm the following: • Wire polarity • Accessories and accessory placement. Lights are not dimming or flickering. 1. Confirm a compatible 120V MLV dimmer switch has been installed between the AC line voltage and dimmable driver. Visit the online page for this product for a detailed list of compatible dimmers. 2. Check that the 12V DC light fixture installed is rated as a dimmable LED Fixture.
