As a global supplier of electrical and electronic products, Taiwan is a dynamic market sought out by international vendors as well as a producer of multiple new commodities. All household appliances imported and marketed in Taiwan must conform to Safety and EMC inspection requirements. BSMI (Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection) is the certifying authority for this purpose and conducts compliance inspections on regulated products sold in Taiwan based on the Commodity Inspection Act . Goods subject to legal inspection are those defined in this Act and include most household appliances, audio/video products, ITE products, lighting equipment, personal care appliances, toys and other electrical goods.
Manufacturers and retailers will need to address the requirements for their electrical and electronic products when importing or marketing goods to Taiwan.
Bureau Veritas is a BSMI designated testing lab that offers direct and complete BSMI compliant certification testing and consultancy services that can help you meet safety and EMC requirements. The technical requirements are CNS standards that have been harmonized with relevant IEC or CISPR standards. For the categories without applicable CNS standards, IEC or CISPR standards can be adopted.
