Generator Preventative Maintenance Scope of Work

Inspect for worn, broken or loose, and adjust
Maintain proper coolant level
Check and record blockage
Check the oil level and add as necessary
Check for proper operation
Inspect for leaks from tank supply lines to engine
Maintain electrolyte level & check connections
Inspect the condition of all gauges
Inspect for proper operation and adjust as necessary
Run engine to standard operating temperature
Inspect for proper oil pressure and record readings
Inspect for proper fuel pressure and record readings
Inspect for correct RPM/HZ, adjust as needed and record
Inspect for correct voltage adjust as needed and record
Inspect and record leaks (oil, coolant, fuel, air, exhaust)

Generator Load Bank Services Scope of Work
Place generator mode from “Auto” to “Off” position
Place automatic transfer switch from “Auto” to “Manual” mode
Connect load bank cables on output breaker of generator
Start generator
Turn on load bank and load generator for 25% of nameplate rating for 30 minutes
Record all applicable readings including: voltage, frequency, coolant temp, and oil pressure
Followed by 50% of nameplate rating for 30 minutes
Record all applicable readings including: voltage, frequency, coolant temp, and oil pressure
Followed by 75% of nameplate rating for 60 minutes, for a total of 2 continuous hours
Record all applicable readings including: voltage, frequency, coolant temp, and oil pressure
Check for frequency deviations and correct accordingly
Check voltage stabilization and correct accordingly
Check water temperature and oil pressure for stabilization
Check for leaks or cracks in generator set
Perform a temperature scan on all major components, power connections, and controls
Perform a complete visual inspection of all major components.
Disconnect load bank cables from output of generator
Place automatic transfer switch from “Manual” to “Auto” mode
Place generator mode from “Off” to “Auto” position
Recommend corrective action if necessary
Provide complete Load Bank report summary.
Stationary Battery Services Scope of Work
Inspect the appearance of the batteries & battery room. Clean normal dirt accumulation on cell
Measure and record the total battery voltage and charging current
Measure and record total ripple voltage and current
Visually inspect jars and covers for cracks and leakage
Visually inspect for corrosion
Measure and record ambient temperature
Verify the condition of ventilation equipment
Verify integrity of the battery rack and cabinet
Measure and record representative cell temperatures
Measure and record the float voltage of all cells
Measure and record the internal impedance on all cells
Check the tightness of 10% of the inter0unit connectors when units can be taken off line
Provide a detailed written report noting results and corrective action

Automatic Transfer Switch Scope of Work
Inspect for physical damage, anchoring and grounding
Inspect for water or foreign object damage
Check for proper bracing
Clean enclosure of debris, dust and foreign matter
Check mechanical lug tightness via use of infra-red or thermal detection
Check all insulators by visual and continuity methods
Check tightness of all control terminations
Record voltage phase to phase and phase to ground of energized source
Record voltage sensing relays
Record momentary outage timer
Record transfer to emergency timer
Record transfer to normal timer
Monitor proper operation of in-phase monitor
Record and calibrate cool down timer
Record voltage drops across main contacts
Record temperature of the current carrying conductors
Monitor proper operation of all accessories
UPS Scope of Work
Perform a temperature scan on all breakers, power connections, fuses and controls. Perform
repairs as needed.
Perform complete visual inspection of equipment and check filters for cleanliness.
Check modules for the following:
o Rectifier an inverter snubber boards for discoloration
o Power capacitors for swelling or leaking
o DC capacitor vent caps
Check alarm history activity
Record all voltage and current panel meter readings on the module control
Measure and record DC bus voltage, ripple voltage and ripple current
Measure and record harmonic trap filter currents
Inspect for proper cooling fan operation
Verify remote monitoring operations
Inspect general condition of battery plant
Review system performance to address questions and schedule repairs
