NO FOOD or DRINK ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM OR LAB ATTENDANCE POLICY: Attendance is mandatory in all automotive courses. It is expected that a limited number of emergency situations may arise wherein absence from class is unavoidable. In such cases students are expected to discuss the absence with the instructor and to assume the responsibility for make-up work. Automotive program policy allows for no more than two absences for emergency purposes. Being late for class on two occasions equates to one absence. One additional absence will result in the loss of one letter grade on the student’s final average. Two additional absences will result in the instructor reserving the right to remove the student from the class for the remainder of the semester. If any class is missed for any reason, the instructor needs to be notified before or immediately after any absence to acquire any missed assignments and to schedule a make-up activity. The instructor has the right to determine the make-up activity. Automotive students are expected to arrive to class/lab on time and ready to work. Lab attendance includes safety glasses, tools, work cloths, fender cover and required lab manual with appropriate writing instrument. There are no excuses for being absent for an hourly exam. Any unexcused missed lab sessions must be made up at the discretion of the instructor, or a grade of “F” will be assigned to the lab and/or class. Legal excuses are outlined in the student hand book. THE INSTRUCTOR HAS THE RIGHT TO MODIFY ANY SECTION OF THE SYLLABUS. EACH STUDENT IS RESPONSIBLE TO READ AND UNDERSTAND THE SYLLABUS. 2
